Facilitators: Mike Kleier

Mike Kleier joined KESA in 2003 as the Member Relations Manager responsible for Loss Control Services. He has worked in advertising and promotion for more than twenty years and has developed employee communication and promotion programs for companies like Ford Motor Company, Lee Jeans and NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company). Mike developed the SAFETY W.O.R.K.S. program for KESA.

HAZCOM

Program Description:

This course provides an overview of the requirements under HAzard Communication Standard, CFR 1910.1200, and a refesher on MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) terminology. Attendees learn to inventory and maintain MSDS on workplace chemical, understand the NFPA 704 'diamond', and discover HAZCOM resources for continued training as required by OSHA.

Jesse Valdez is a KESA Loss Control Consultant with more than ten years of experience in occupational health and safety. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and an Associate degree in Environmental and Occupational Safety. He is also a certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist.


Defensive Driving

Program Description:

This program teaches participants how to recognize both potential and immediate hazards and how to avoid collisions in a variety of driving conditions. The emphasis is on identifying and choosing safe driving behavior. Participants receive the SAFETY W.O.R.K.S. For Defensive Driving CD for training and educating all employees in driving safety.

Tom Butler is a KESA Loss Prevention Consultant with more that twenty-six years as a Loss Prevention Consultant/Safety Engineer. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University with a minor in Industrial Technology. He is a member of the National Safety Council and the American Society of Safety Engineers. Tom is a certified instructor for the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course.

Program Description:

This seminar discusses practical solutions to prevent slips, trips, and falls. Ray holds a Certified Safety Professional designation and a Business Administration degree.

SAFETY W.O.R.K.S. For The Back is an exciting new training program for lifting correctly. The program is exclusive to KESA and unlike anything in the field of back safety. The SAFETY W.O.R.K.S. For The Back program features interactive maneuvers for back safety and coaching methods for lifting correctly. Attendees will participate in the training program and receive FREE materials to conduct training in their workplace. It is recommended that seminar participants attend the Back Injury Prevention seminar preceding this seminar.

Early Return To Work

Program Description:

This program will review the features and benefits of early return-to-work programs. Attendees will learn how to work with the injured employee and his/her physician to bring the employee back to work. Each attendee will receive the KESA SAFETY W.O.R.K.S. Back In The Game kit with forms and tools to develop an early return-to-work program specific to your company.

Facilitator: Kevin Fallahay

Kevin Fallahay is KESA's Claims Manager and has more twenty-five years of experience in claims management. Kevin holds a Bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Dayton. He is a past board member of the Kentucky Workers' Compensation Education Association and served on the Governor's task force researching managed care/utilization. Kevin currently sits on the QA Board for Comprehensive Consulting.
